“It’s going to happen to everyone—the only question is when,” says Prof. Dr. Matteo Große-Kampmann of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and founder of a successful cybersecurity startup—at the “Business beim Burger” economic forum. Practical solutions instead of panic: The expert—who combines academic knowledge with real-world experience—once again emphasized how important password managers are, for example, now that everyone:r conveniently handles their personal tax returns and banking digitally. In most cases, it’s actually employees:innen who fall into the phishing trap as a gateway for fake emails. An interesting insight: Vulnerability to this increases under stress. As an immediate measure, Große-Kampmann suggests raising awareness within the company: “Information security isn’t a feature—it’s a must.”
